I don't know when I told you that but they just released a jailbreak for 3GS that allows untethered jailbreak.

Old bootrom 3GS was always untethered.

By the way, not that this has much relevance to anything to help your situation, but you need to thoroughly do your research or else you'll end up making mistakes in the future you won't like. You've gotten a lot of information mixed up judging by what you've just told me.

On the topic of downgrading basebands, it seems like you are led to believe that going down to 3.0.1 requires a baseband of 4.26.08 which is not true. Even with baseband 5.11.07 you can run on 3.0.1 and continue to use Blacksn0w. Not that a 3GS can downgrade basebands anyhow.

As of right now, there have been no releases or any sort of intention on releasing a jailbreak for 3GS that is untethered. There might be in the future of the 4.0 FW release but until then, things are the way they are. I certainly hope that next time you'll read deeper into your research on firmwares and basebands and bootroms, I don't want you making mistakes that so many people on these forums are making because they were not careful.
