2.- Or, I should use the soft update dev team method to upgrade to an unstable 1.1.3 firmware, and then try to locate all the patches to more or less normalize the 1.1.3 upgraded iphone?.

I'll really aprecciate your answer, to sleep well soon, Thank you for all yor effort and thanks to geohotz too for don't forget about us.
upgrade/restore to a clean, stock 1.1.3 via iTunes then jailbreak/activate/unlock with the ziphone method

Guys - the software is not available for download right now, as stated in the original post. We have a few small edits to make and then are re-releasing.

Works for me. Jailbreak + Activate

    PPC G5 tower. iTunes 4.6.

iPhone 3.9BL originally 1.1.1 upgraded to stock 1.1.3 generic.

Thanks very easy once I did it correctly. Had to restore 2x.

3rd time worked using DonGun's version.

jtesnani thanks for your answer, only another little question, have you tried before the clean upgrade/restore thru Itunes and then activate/jailbreak/unlock thru ziphone?

I actually haven't done it myself haha (perhaps i shouldn't be giving advice), but i've read a lot about this jailbreak process and from what I gather is you're better off wiping everything you've possibly installed on the phone in order to ensure that this jailbreak process goes smoothly. you can also do a back up of your entire phone using MMi's guide. i hope this help. i plan to do the jailbreak tonight. i've been hesitant as i had a lot of trouble with my phone when jailbreaking it (1.1.2 OTB) so i tend to hold back on jailbreaking again with new methods.

Has anyone tried with a 16gb iPhone? I'm anxioua to start playing with additional apps, but don't want to risk bricking it.

  13. #71
Virginaize your baseband first, clean upgrade using iTunes, then unlock using Ziphone.

  14. #72
Do i understand correctly to play with new apps i DON'T need to unlock it, only jailbreak it?

I've been holding out for a 1-click jailbreak as I don't want to mess with learning all the other steps and associated jargon, I just don't have the time or attention span.

so I can install 3rd-party apps if it's only jailbroken?

    New ZiPhone 2.0

    From Developer site:
    http://zibree.blogspot.com/
    ZiPhone v2.0 is finally OUT.
In the command line version, you will find a new
option "-b" be very careful with that!
I take no responsability if you brick your phone!
ZiPhone -b will downgrade bootloader from 4.6 to 3.9,
    flash 4.03.13_G baseband version and
    unlock it (in one shot!).
