Default Iphone 6 plus locked on Tmobile questopm
Why is it so much higher for Tmobile unlocks that other carriers?

I have one that has been purchased out right not contract but is locked under Tmobile, well tmobile has very poor service in my area and I am under contract currently with Verizon wireless.

So to unlock the Tmobile phone through Tmobile I have to have a active account which I do not have. This does not make since if I had a account with them I guess I would stay with them but I do not.

So my question is what choices if any do I have on this phone other than paying 145 bucks to a 3 rd party site and wait 14 days to use this phone?

    Am I out of luck?

Thank you for your help in advance.

From my understanding, all T-Mo iPhones are unlocked. I have both the 6 and 6+ I bought through the Apple store, and both will work with any sim.
As were all the iPhones I have bought in the past since T-Mo has been licensed to sell them even though I buy mine from Apple.

Perhaps if you bought through T-Mo on contract they may be carrier locked, but I have not heard of that. It would surprise me.

That is interesting, I spoke with Tmobile and they were talking like I would have to contact the person who owned the phone with me that has a active account. I asked them if the IMEI number was clean they stated yes it was, but when I check it online it shows there it a balance left on it so that confused me too. But Tmobile acted like it was lock to their carrier, is there a way to tell by the IMEI number?
