redsn0w does not have that feature. only sn0wbreeze or pwnage tool can create cooked firmwares. redsn0w jailbreaks the device.

Oh I meant sn0wbreeze my bad.

So what you're saying is you created a 4.3.3 cfw and restored it just fine through iTunes without any problems and then installed ultrasn0w and got no service??

Did you create w/sn0wbreeze AND use sn0wbreeze to enter pwnd-DFU mode? Then shift/click/select custom firmware to load w/iTunes?

Note: .... redsn0w is NOT needed when using sn0wbreeze.

I think what he did was use sn0wbreeze to create the cfw and then used iReb to get into a dfu state. Atleast thats what the video is showing that was on his original post.

^ I wish he would stick w/Sn0wbreeze until it's completely finished, Then load w/iTunes.

I did do that. I made the cfw with snowbreeze then loaded it with itunes.

Are you waiting for to 'activate the phone' now?!? Install your official SIM card.

If you don't have one. Create another cfw w/Sn0wbreeze and select the option to activate. Reload w/iTunes.

  13. #32
ALright I did that , I got past the activation. I still cannot get any service after unlocking.

Now that you have access to the springboard, run Cydia and install ultrasn0w.
Let the phone reboot and wait a few minutes (up to 30) to pick up the carrier.
If no carrier is found after 30 minutes, go to Settings / Carrier wait 2-3 more minutes.
What carriers does it list... and one of those your carrier.

It's happened to a few other MMi members that once installed the 6.15 baseband on an iPhone and trying to perform a software unlock via Ultrasn0w, the iPhone would not receive any signal. Is it possible Apple could have killed the iPad baseband on non-iPad devices?

I don't know .... It's difficult to see how they could. But I have noticed these issues more frequently. One time, reinstalling the 6.15 iPad BB helped but I think that was a fluke (haha)...

4.2.1 and below seems to be individual and exceptional issues. I've seen that 4.3.3 has had more and more issues when it comes to unlocking...

^That could be. The 1-bar display issue (which the latest ultrasn0w fixed) started after 4.2.1.
There could be a pattern emerging here

^It's unclear if there is a wide-spread problem or this is a case-by-case issue.

Ive been seeing it as a problem lately too. Theres a couple threads on it here about it.
