Default Gevey Ultra - iPhone can't save phone number
Has anyone else had trouble with attempting to save their phone number under "Settings" > "Phone" when using Gevey Ultra? I'm using auto method via furiousmod.

Error message reads: Phone number could not be saved.

Not at all. Thats a function of carrier sim that is placed in the phone and not the gevey sim itself I would think. Are you saying that when you go to settings/phone and try to alter and save your number it wont let you save??

Yes. What do you think is the cause? It's still locked to ATT.

I'm confused. You have an unlocked phone using the gevey sim but the phone number is locked to ATT? Did you activate the phone using an att sim and now are attempting to unlock the phone using gevey and a different carrier sim?

Yes. I now live outside the US, in Iceland. So using a different carrier.

I have never seen that error or had any problems with my phone not saving my number. I always thought it was sim dependent and therefore whatever sim is placed in the device should automatically change the number as well.

I found this thread that may or may not help you. Its worth a shot. I personally would try to reset all the settings and see if the number changes then.

Thanks. I gave all those a try. I'll try a new SIM.

Still no success. I've tried 3 separate Gevey SIMs (2 ultra, 1 regular) on 2 separate iPhone 4s. Still can't save number. Any further advice? Anyone else with same issue?

If you have tried everything else then I would suggest a clean restore and activation. Make sure you have your shsh blobs to do so because Gevey only works up to the 4.10 baseband and the newest fw out I believe updates the baseband past that.

Clean restoring doesn't help. It's an error with Gevey, I'm certain. There's no reason why I should be having issues with 3 separate Iphone (2 iphone 4s, 1 3g).

How have you tried on a 3G?? Gevey does not work on a 3G.

Have you tried just placing the sim in without the Gevey and changing the number? I have no problems placing a no service sim in my I4 and still being able to go to the phone setting and changing the number. I'm not quite sure its a Gevey issue just yet because the Gevey only unlocks the device it has no sense as to what number you are placing in.

It must be sim issue. I'm going to save number using a new sim and an unlocked 3G before cutting and placing in iPhone 4 with gevey. According to gevey, they have had a few issues with this before.

I would say its either a sim issue or a phone issue.

Well good luck to you. Let me know how it turns out

It's a SIM issue for sure. I solved the issue, though not the most ideal.

Went to carrier and got a new SIM. Placed in my girlfriend's iPhone 3g; unlocked with ultrasn0w. Saved the number. Took SIM out and cut to fit Gevey, then placed in jb iPhone 4 locked. Worked like a charm. Odd. I know it's not a phone issue, as when it has an ATT sim in I can save without issue.
