    Default Iphone 3g unlock activation
    HI

    I have jailbroken them both and used ultarsnow says it's unlocked but when I put in sim card phone says needs to activate may take some time and phone part doesnt' work I did use the option of unlock in snowbreeze please help

    Snowbreeze doesn't have the option for unlock, what you were seeing is activate my iphone.
    Install Ultrasn0w from Cydia to unlock is what you want.

    Don't forget to turn off 3g

    in general settings

    HI

    Sorry my typo I did install Ultrasn0w in cydia and it is installed. I also did it twice and still having the problem.

    When do I turn of 3g that confuses me?

    What is your moderm firmware or baseband ?

    HI the firmware or baseband is 02.11.07 and running 4.1 cydia installed and also Ultrasn0w

    You have the 4.1 baseband which cannot be unlocked.

    What do you mean by "don't forget to turn off you 3g"?
    Does activation / unlock get screwed up if you don't?

    Haven't seen this mentioned anywhere before.

    Sometimes, yes. Since T-Mobile is unable to use AT&T's 3G frequencies anyway, it'd be pointless to keep it on and waste battery.

    In my experience, if you don't turn 3G off, the phone will not work when using an unofficial carrier sim. I thought this was always the case when using carriers other than AT&T ? Are you saying it is not?
