    Default Jailbreak/Unlock 3GS 3.1.2
I currently own an iPhone 3GS running 3.1.2 on baseband 5.11.07, which is of course jailbroken and unlocked.

I am looking to upgrade to iOS4, but need the right directions to get there.

I tried checking my bootrom version, but it does not show up for my device. I can however say it is S/N XX950XXXXXX

What is the appropriate way to upgrade, jailbreak and unlock to 4.1 on my 3GS?

    it possible pwnage tool.
    or find a custom firmware.
as you need to keep your baseband to unlock.
Being an i can be a lot of pressure. you have to live right up to the small point.

Yes, pwnage tools is for mac only. Currently there is no custom fw to preserve your baseband for windows at 4.1.

If you want to wait until Snowbreeze 2.1 is released.

Snowbreeze 2.0.2 can do it for old bootrom phones only. I'm guessing you don't have your phone in DFU mode which is why you can't see your baseband. Check out this link to see which bootrom you have:

Looking at your serial number I agree with yeow it is looking like new bootrom.
