Sorry to jump in on this thread, but seemed pointless starting a new one.

Im having the same problems as above, 3G iphone 3.0 firmware Tmobile UK sim.

Cannot make outgoing calls or texts. Cant receive incoming calls or texts.

3G was turned off before installing ultrasn0w.

Internet works perfectly fine at a good speed too.

Have the Tmobile logo and 3G in the top left corner.

Its on ver 3.0, baseband is 04.26.08

Have tried ALL the ideas and fixes people have provided with no joy.

Any help on sorting this would be truely graeful as i really dont want to go back to my old phone because ive thrown my Iphone out the window.

Have you restored to 3.0 in iTunes (be careful 3.01 is out now), set up as a new phone, run RedSn0w with your T SIM in then run UltraSn0w ?
And not restored from a backup?

Yeah, to the exact method you said.

    I have restored, new phone, redsn0w, ultrasn0w.

3G on, 3G off, sim in, sim out everything.

It just will not make or recieve calls or texts.

Would it be worthwhile downgrading from 3.0 to the next firmware down and trying that?

Im not too fussed losing out on the extras from 3.0

I just want the phone to work.

    Thanks

    Downgrading won't help.
Thios is what worked for someone else having this problem
Here is the only solution / workround to the no Service problem, Switch IPHONE OFF, remove sim and place in a working phone, boot up and place a call to any number eg answer phone, switch off phone place in Iphone boot it back up and within 30 seconds full signal and service provider, warning this needs to be done everytime you switch off, I know it is no ideal but until a fix is issued this will get you working.

    No joy.

I tried the method that you quoted and it hasnt worked.

The phone has had full service and service provider from the start, it just will not make or receive the calls.

I have also been able to use the internet through 3g fine from the start.

    It is really baffling me.

This problem is purely with TMobile as i have tried an Orange sim and that works perfectly.

Thank you for you help so far, it is really appreciated.

    T-Mobile in the UK?
What SIM did you have in when you ran RedSn0w/UltraSn0w?
What Model Number is it? Was it bought from O2/CPW or somewhere else?

    TMobile in the UK yeah.

Tried it both with the TMobile sim in and out when running redsn0w and ultrasn0w.

    Its a 3G, model number MB489B

Serial Number is xx922xxxxxx. So that makes it June 09 if im right.

It was a replacement phone direct from 02 and is a mere 2-3 weeks old.

Running 04.26.08 baseband if that makes any difference.

    Thanks

All iPhone 3G have A1241 on the back. The actual model number can be found in settings->General ->about

Does your SIM work in other phones? Have you tried other SIMs in your iPhone?

It does yes, it came out of my g1 that it works fine in and was also tried in a samsung pixon and works fine in there too.

Not a data only sim, it is a full use sim.

hi, anyone got any other solutions? or has anyone got their uk t-mobile working in an unlocked 3g 3.0 iphone?

  17. #36
No and I've tried EVERYTHING to try and get it to work.

I'm getting to the point now where I'm gonna end up taking a hammer to it soon.

It's seriously getting frustrating that I have this great phone and I can't use it.

It looks that way it really is driving me to drink.

I have redone the phone about 10 - 15 times, jailbroken, unlocked. 3.0, 3.0.1 it just will not make calls or receive calls no texts either way either.

I have tried my sim in other phones, other sims in the phone. The orange sim works fine, obviously 02.

I think I'm gonna give it a week see if I get an answer or a fix or I'm chopping it in for a blackberry!!
