is there a way to downgrade a 2.0 back to 1.1.4?

Download an old version of ITunes (7.5 or 7.6 should work).
    Download the 1.1.4 firmware

Uninstall Itunes and install the old version 7.5 or 7.6
use the DFU restore to select the 1.1.4 firmware and restore it.

After you are restored on 1.1.4 use the usual tools to jailbreak and unlock

Restore your phone to firmware 2.2.1 and then use Quickpwn 2.2-5 (from our download section) to jailbreak and unlock.

Remember if you download 1.1.4 you will not be able to get apps from the App Store ... you have to have 2.0 or later for the app store.
