    Default unlocking only, no jailbreak
hi, just want someone to point me in the right direction on just unlocking my phone. i have upgraded to 1.1.4 and unlocked, jailbreak etc using pwnage and it worked a treat. I am thinking of just wanting the unlock on it now, so i can use different sim.do i have to activate as well. i have looked and read but not real clear on how to do this so thought i would ask for your advice before i tried.
    thank you

U cant unlock without jailbreak. Just do this:
Unlock ur iPhone with PWNAGE/iLiberty/iPlus,NOT ZIPHONE!
Then, install Poof.app from installer and hide INSTALLER AND POOF out of ur iPhone,if u do not need installer.

thanks i used pwnage to do mine so can i use iliberty. i just wanted to unlock as my battery is bad since i did the pwnage. i jailbreak my touch and this was the same so just restored it back and battery was fine. do i have to create another custom firmware and when you get to the part with unlock, activate ipsw builder etc click the same ones again but then on the custom packages bsd sub system, open ssh, installer make sure non of them are selected. what will this do thanks

you can use pwnage again or iliberty. either way, restore with the stock iphone firmware prior to jailbreak/unlock again. if you use pwnage again, i'd suggest creating another custom firmware as the current one may have contributed to your battery issue (although i've never had that problem).

as mentioned you can't unlock without jailbreaking. if you dont' want or need any of the other programs, you can move them onto a separate page on the iphone and just not use them. you may currently have open ssh installed on your iphone and has it turned on. it drains your battery a lot faster. you can download bossprefs via installer and use that to turn it off. open ssh allows you to connect wirelessly from your comp to your phone to access the file directly. bsd subsystem is needed to installed applications in installer
