Thread: How do I know how my phone was unlocked?

Default How do I know how my phone was unlocked?
    I have a 1.0.2 iPhone, which I bought unlocked.
How do I know which method was used to unlock it, or if the baseband/seczone is damaged and the phone needs virginising?

Get iBrickr , then connect your iPhone - Go to iphones /usr/bin directory and see if there is a file iUnlock. If there is, then it is unlocked using iUnlock.

    Thanks.

Q2: Does it matter how it is unlocked, if I virginize it anyway, and update?

Maybe try a different sim from a different carrier. I have ATT and bought a prepaid T-mobile for 10 bucks just to test.

I don't think there is a way to find out if they took the program off.
But depending when you bought it, it could be harmful.
I would contact the seller or just virginize to be safe.

MY vote goes for just virginizing to be safe...it's easy enough using this link: http://modmyi.com/forums/showthread.php?t=13761
