Default Tmobile rep said they heard rumors of possibly getting iPhones-anyone heard this?
I talked to tmobile tonight asking when our contracts expire with our unlocked iPhones and they wanted to know why we may cancel? i said for some reason at&t doesnt want any deposit for us to go with them, when previously they wanted $750 deposit!

I asked if they were going to get any iPhones in the future and was told they heard rumors, but thats all they heard were rumors and nothing is confirmed.

Anyone heard if t-mobile may be getting iphones for their network, then the 3g would work with them?

    Reps never have a clue.

What's an iPhone 3g without good coverage? They should worry about that before thinking about adding the iPhone

No, T-Mobile will not get an offical iPhone.

They don't have a enough subscribers to warrant Apple building a phone that is compatible with the 3G Bands they use. If T-Mobile didn't smoke crack and used standard bands, it'd be more (but still not likely) that they'd get an iPhone.

It's just TMO USA that is crazy. As you know, TMO Germany is the carrier of the iPhone there.

Does your iphone in Germany works with 3G data? or is it just edge?

The iPhone in Germany would be fine with 3G. T-mobile Germany has a different 3G frequency than T-mobile USA. Unfortunately the iPhone doesn't currently support the frequency that T-mobile USA 3G uses but who knows. Maybe in the future they will, nobody knows for sure, especially the T-mobile reps which are probably the last to find out. If you're interested here is why you couldn't get a German iPhone and take it here to use on the T-mobile network for 3G data speeds:
T-Mobile USA is using the 1700/2100 Mhz bands for 3G (UMTS)
T-Mobile Germany uses 1900/2100 Mhz for 3G (UMTS)
