Default having data while on a call [HOW?]
i remember when i had my iphone 3g, on firmware 3.0 i was able to make calls press the home button and go search something on safari, then it disappeared, it didn't really bother me, but now i want it back. i have a 3gs on 3.1.3 but I want to be able to make a call minimize it and go online or use an app requiring data. y did it even stop working?

U probably were using it with wifi, as far as I remember it's never been possible. It's not something the iPhone restricts but T-mobile does. Nothing to be done to change that unless it's from their end.

I don't think it is possible on an edge connection.

It's not a T-Mobile limitation, its the same with any EDGE phone.

EDGE runs through the same bands as voice IIRC, so you gotta choose between voice or data. 3G it is possible, because they use different bands for data, so voice band is always clear.
