That's a fair point Ian. I agree. And we can be very thankful WB still works.. Though it's been "neutered" of its ability to run the Classic stuff. (CS' choice partly Saurik's choice partly).. And it can't do all that Anemone can. So here's to hoping he doesn't lose interest..

And yes, Krima & Ian.. It is a little too soon to say WB is dead and Anem is a winner.. But there is a lot of evidence out there in the form of an emerging majority of theme creators that are supporting anemone now… But they're not talking about abandoning WB yet. And I agree people can still make choices. And choices are a good thing.

I wonder if Anemone (CoolStar) has thought about bringing back HTML support for SB, or even wallpapers - can we use walls with Anemone? Ask CS to add PerPageHTML into it, then he could charge a penny. ..... Am I asking too much? All I want is everything.

Is Anemone going to remain free when it comes out of beta?

It's officially out of beta Ian but still being worked on.

Regarding the HTML support, it has been brought up but no decision has been made.

Would be nice to see it back but i know it brings doubts as now we have re-spring issues with UIWebView, if I had the brains I would bring it with a switch - UIWebView/WKWebView, it's not hard for a dev, it's commonly used by those using WKWebView but also want there app iOS7 compatible so they also code the UIWebView with a function that looks for iOS version, and now there is the new SafariWebView thing LOL... So many choices and we got nothing atm. ..Well we have LockHTML4 I guess, oh, & Cydgets.

Thank God for iWidgets! (Cheers Eldwin.)

Well, Matt is working on a rewrite of Convergance plus Jake will look at SBHTML after he releases Setback.

So hopefully he will have time to fix SBHTML.

Just switched to Anemone and I've got everything working except one thing...

How do you change the icon in Settings for the News app???

    Nice little discussion.

But keep in mind that if WB dies it's really Sauriks fault. He pulled out many features that we all liked in lieu of wanting other devs to pick up the ball and create addon tweaks to replace the removed items. So what you get is a mismatch of tweaks trying to do the job of what used to be one tweak.

Even though PPHTML died because of no update, it would be dead anyway because WB doesn't support HTML anymore.

I've read most of Sauriks publications on this and I see his point, doesn't mean that I agree with it, but it is what it is. Devs come and go, that's just the way it is.

I recon the first Dev to bring back HTML support to SB could make a killing, I would gladly pay a couple of bucks for its return, I paid 20 bucks for the iWidget update & will again on the next iOS update.

Wish I could do it myself grrrrr.

I just don't understand the Dev's sometime, they know there is a market there! If they cannot use WKWebview then fine, state it's not recommended for iph6+.

I gotta learn how to do this stuff, I'm so fed up waiting on people, yeah yeah there busy blah blah with this & that,,, I say "bollocks" to that excuse. Get the whip out WTF.

Yes I'm pissed off, I know you think I'm unreasonable, I don't care, I'm not the only one I'm sure.

I even tried googling to hire a Developer to make me a tweak but cannot find how to hire one. Anyone?

I don't know how much traffic there has been there or even how exactly it works but if you're looking to have a particular tweak made, and can't hurt to post on reddit
r/tweakbounty. I'm not sure how it works exactly but thought I'd bring it to your attention in case you're not aware of its existence

It'd be nice to see a $100+ post that doesn't end with someone begging for a BiteSMS replacement! In all seriousness though I do see some good, capable devs popping in that sub sometimes. My only other thought on this is there's a "Tweak Battles" going on later this month as well and dev teams may be open to suggestions for that. For anyone interested, I think it's tweakbattles.com. One benefit to supporting that is proceeds go to charity. I believe submissions are required to be open source so that's potentially helpful (or at least it is for all you smart people, not me personally)

Apple's implementation of Messages.app, after iOS 8, does most of what biteSMS did.. Bite just isn't needed anymore. That's why no one's really picked up the ball on that one.

Would be great though to have an open source tweak for HTML on SB.

Be careful where you say that! They don't take a liking to that kind of talk around those parts! Lol! I don't disagree and for me, Bite had almost too many features I didn't need. Do love me some Auki though but that's a pipe dream too. Apple's implementation is just lacking Quick Compose. I've become happy enough with Couria to no longer wake up in the night crying about Auki. I honestly just loved Auki's "swipe down on NC to activate QC." It just felt right and was super smooth. Bought Columba yesterday just to support the dev & give it a quick try. "A" for effort but needs quite a bit of polish.
So there's a bunch of my opinions nobody asked for and on an unrelated topic. Sorry guys, got carried away!

My plan was to offer $500 to a dev to basically re-make PerPageHTML, I have no idea if this figure is far too low or not, but at the end of the day the tweak would be mine & if I wanted to charge a dollar for it to get my money back then I would. The developer would get no money from sales.
I would ask it be done with an option UIWebView or WKWebVeiw & also listen to what the developer says about the new SafariWebView.

I looked on rededit already but not sure where to place this advert! I'm looking for a pro developer as I know this sort of tweak for a pro could be ready for beta in a day, probably less!

I would get the source code too to learn from, which I would share with certain friends.

Here is something interesting: (from here): How To Make A Cydia Tweak Or Application For iOS [In-Depth]

Barrel: This Cydia tweaks adds animated transitions to your springboard pages. It was downloaded over 14,626 times with a price tag of $2.99. Meaning it has generated over $43,000 in profit.

Infinidock: This Cydia tweak makes the dock on your iPhone, iPod Touch or iPad scrollable. It was downloaded over 113,617 times with a price tag of $0.99. Meaning it has generated over $112,000.

DisplayOut: This Cydia tweak mirrors your iPhone, iPod Touch or iPad’s screen to an external monitor or projector. It has been downloaded over 243, 419 times with a price tag of $2.99. Meaning it has generated over $727, 822.

So what are our developers waiting for? HTML back on SB would make you rich! There is good business potential here!
Because nobody updated there SB icon tweaks Iconoclasm must be making a fortune, and good for them since they took a little time to get there tweak updated quickly.
My advise to Eldwin is to charge $1.99 for iWidgets on next version, he deserves it.
