I can look at the header and see if it's calling out to any images..

[Question] iOS 8.3 Shadow Gradient on Wallpaper : iOSthemes

Not an app per-say but they were discussing it over at reddit.

Chevy's solution doesn't work for me but thanks for the effort.

I didn't think the anomaly would appear on a screenshot but it seems to.

Apologies, the flex2 app is the following:

Search for: "Wallpaper - Dark Gradient Overlay: Disabled (iOS8)" on System Wide

Mmmmm, that didn't have any effect....

  11. #3587
did you have chevy's files active in Winterboard?

    delete anything in here:

    /private/var/mobile/Library/Caches/com.apple.Preferences.sharedimagecache/Wallpaper

delete the others as well if you didn't have Chevy's images applied

    Yes....

  14. #3589
? did it work or are you telling me you had chevy's active?

you could try setting a different wallpaper, delete the files I said again then restring straight away without going back to the homescreen and see what that looks like

I'm getting the impression in 8.3/4 the wallpaper gradient is coded in and not a png.

    From the reddit thread...

[Question] iOS 8.3 Shadow Gradient on Wallpaper : iOSthemes

I really don't know how you can do it without Flex.
    But what I did was:
Go to: -> "SpringboardFoundation" library ---> "SBFWallpaperView" class ------> "(float)contrast" method And then force the return value to 0
Chevy's solution would work on 8.1.2 where the gradient is applied via png files.

  17. #3591
i'm on 8.4 and it works for me as you can see in my screenshot. I'm baffled as to why your's isn't theming

Edit: actually it's odd that it is working for me, as you are right the Assets.car from the SpringBoardFoundation.framework isn't there

    Sorry, no it didn't work.

Have Chevy's permanently selected in Winterboard.

Deleted the caches via iFile. Selected wallpaper via Photos, respring before returning to homescreen, result the same...

It's an odd decision of Apple to want to manipulate the wallpaper effect. Not sure I understand the purpose or reason..??

But thanks for the help guys.

Mmmmm, I'm unable to view your screenshot.

Perhaps they've changed how they apply the gradient?

    They seemed to from 7.1 - 8.1.2 - 8.3 - 8.4??

Damn, it's frustrating. I might have to upgrade to 8.4...

In my screenshot of the wallpaper you can't differentiate the white of the screenshot to the page I've posted on. But the screenshot of my homescreen the border is distinct on account of the bloody gradient!!

Anyway, this issue has been driving me nuts and now it threatens to drive the very helpful folk on this forum nuts.

I found flex a bit intimidating the first time I tried it. Think I'm more likely to live with the issue, rather than try flex again.
