Ah man already! I have been focusing more in the .artwork & emoji .ttf space for a while now!

Maybe someone else can do it???

I have an 8X A5 IPSW extracted & I just hit up @ih8sn0w again for the keys which he is about to publish! YES!

    ImageUploadedByModMyi1411683323.787674.jpg

So it's possible to start one very soon if need be.

I also came up with an idea to recompile complete themes. I'm achieving something very similar with recompiling the emoji ttf file. There are two image formats uint8 & byte swapped RGBA->BGRA for the larger pngs.

Would be awesome incorporated via a themeing tweak & provide some form of protection or even piracy protection is my thoughts.

If the iOS prefers bundled UI why can't we utilise that for themes.

It would also make modding from the end user a little more difficult. Good thing for piracy... bad thing if you're of "open source ethos" like me.... or you want something small added from one them to another. Support questions would be off the hook, considering the amount of support questions we get now regarding simple WB swapping of images. Not for everyone, but a great idea. Cheers.

You would make it work the same as WB & Equinox do. I said to Matt from the start, make WinterBoard have a hierarchy over Equinox so they can both work together or separately Equinox achieves this.

Yes, but say I want the squiggly battery and signal from a compressed file, how would I (assuming I'm an average modder) go about adding those signals to another custom theme setup for personal use. I'd have to release the compressed versions, and a WB version for people to have the same freedom over my themes that they do now.

It only really effects people like me with the separated elements made available to the user so they can build there own theme. It's very rare that you see a user with an "out of the box" setup. You get them occasionally, but the support questions usually come from the modders, not the "out of the box" themers that'r happy with the theme in it's entirety.

Don't get me wrong.... It's a great idea, but remember that we can't really C&P images on device that've been optimised, and need to do it off device by extracting the non-optimised PNGs. I optimised a add-on once, and got considerable support questions looking for an easy way for the user to manipulate files and mod my themes. I also get a lot of requests for different settings icons, which obviously I can't accommodate, or the package alternates would be many and confusing.... plus there's always someone who wants something that everyone else HASNT got

I'm interested to see if it's adoptable by my main user base (that mainly just want a few images from my themes). I guess I can't really comment on the piracy benefits, as non of my products have been pirated (to my knowledge). I can see how that would be of great benefit to Dev's though. Thank you.

It would have to be hierarchical like Winterboard normally is.

Personally I'd rather have the benefits of anti-piracy at the cost of users being able to pick and choose individual files.

This has been covered extensively by Saurik, and I tend to agree with him (for the most part). What I quoted is the reason our customer demographic exists, and I believe that restricting the ability to make your device "your device", is basically contradicting the point of having root access in the first place.

That's been discussed before to enormous lengths, and I still take your view as intended, with full respect for both sides of the coin. I couldn't judge fairly without an open mind, so I read a lot, and listen to people's main concerns from both sides. It's how work around little things like the "no repost" thing on the iWidgets for a while there. In the end, a compromise can nearly always be met. It isn't exactly what either party intended (dev or user), but it usually does the job. Thank you.

I got used to the plain crip ios 7 look over some time.
Battery life don't look to promising in the future , cause how many tweaks it takes to get a good theme setup.

    My setup so far!

    Should I get some widgets?
    Worried about my battery life-
If you want to preserve performance and battery, then stay away from widgets. They're cool, but the trade off isn't worth it to me.

THANKS I wasn't sure. Thinking of making my own and see what I could do but......
Over all these years sense widgets hit ios I never used them for some reason. AND

My ipod touch 5g is one of the first models so the battery life is getting bad.
    Heavy use too.!

That statusvol tweak just tops it off making the page dots look sweeter

^^ Good enough, but if you wanted some really cool effects, you could make a template that created a consistent transparency in your glyphs, so as the glare showed through from the static image beneath. Cheers

Great idea for a workaround !

And in the static image, you'd have that gradient on the area where the toggle glyphs are applied.

Brilliant conjunction of superhouse's method and your brains
The theme in my posts is 3 4 All, by Sk37cH.

The numerous versions released, and infinite versatility, beats IconOmatic mods. By quality.

For me, widgets are what make jail breaking worth it. The stock UI of iPhone is always awful. And themed icons and wallpapers aren't enough for me. Granted - I go nuts with animation and all. But all I need, at the height of my craziness after a JB is one partial charge from 20% back to 70% around 2pm and I get thru each day. Easily done - doesn't cramp my lifestyle at all..

HEHE...Way Ahead on of you on that...: ) I posted this in the Lion d'Or theme thread. The only annoying thing about this method is that The background distorts when in landscape mode. Thats why i attempted to do it the other way i posted earlier.

If the BG gets stretched on landscape, then glare not lining up with your glyph opacity is the least of your worries. Those circles....those poor innocent ova... *I mean circles. What did those innocent and well tendered 'n rendered pixels do to deserve such a harsh punishment?! Cheers mate
