I'm really, really not sure if I understood you correctly. But I'm interpreting what you said as "WinterBoard is doing something to a file from /library/Themes instead of /var/stash/themes.xxxxx" I'm not sure what you meant by WinterBoard "reading" the file from /library/Themes, but the correct directory should be /Library/Themes and is a symlink to the directory in /var/stash/. For some reason, in the latest Cydia update, Saurik changed the directory from /var/stash/thems.xxxxx to /var/stash/_.xxxxx

Again, the new directory /Library/Themes is the directory that themes install to and it just points to the directory in /var/stash.

I'm sorry if I left out anything but if I did, if you clarify I'll do my best to answer.

Ok I understand what u put down! Lol so next question is...why does all my stuff in stash/themes.xxxx not show up in winterboard?
Also to be clear I am on 7.1.2

That's probably because since Saurik changed the directory name that /Library/Themes links to. Now it's /var/stash/_.xxxxx

In other words, it is no longer themes.something, it's just and underscore follow by some characters. So WinterBoard is actually looking into whatever folder is linked from /Library/Themes

I had that problem I think~ What I did was Install a theme from cydia first.... Couple folders are still not showing but that's how I got my theme to show up in winterboards messed up directory.

Sorgum...so do I know how I fix this then?

Cody...I did install a theme right off the bat from cydia & it's still doing this...

  13. #3528
I'm not really sure to be honest. When you upgraded your Jailbreak, did you restore from a backup or set up as new? Did you use any tweaks to automate the process?

Restored from back up...was thinking that could be the problem
Used cyberduck & openSSH to back up tweaks

I wonder if reinstalling Winterboard would help

Ok, here's the deal. The Themes folder is in a new directory.

In /var/stash, you will now see several folders that are labeled '._xxxxx.' In one of these folders, you will find the 'Themes' folder.

You need to open each one till you find the 'Themes' folder and then Bookmark the 'Themes' folder so you can easily get back to it.

Anything your backup might've saved from /var/stash/Themes.xxxxx will need to be relocated to your newly bookmarked 'Themes' folder

Hmmm I'll give it a try
I was wondering if maybe I deleted that .xxxx (weird file) that's in stash if that would work

This is where /library/Themes (highlighted in blue btw in iFile) takes me to...what if I deleted that file?

    BTW,
    BOOYAH
I created my artwork files for 7.1.1 using Jato's tutorial!!!

Do we know, though, if I replace my 7.0.x artwork files w/ these 7.1.x files, will the artwork still work on devices running 7.0.x?

    Nice! The deal is...

7.1.X iconCache .artwork files work fine on 7.0.X devices. All that happens or doesn't happen is the "Passcode" & "Touch ID" icons are not displayed or used.

If u recall, I did advise back in March when 7.1 dropped for theme creators to recompile to 7.1.X specs to ensure 7.0.X to 7.1.X compatibility.

U can actually run larger iconCache files (Custom) & include additional icons. It's tricky but I have recompiled a 39 icon Non Retina (remember no Touch ID icon for Non Retina devices) & reconfigured the Settings.plist to show a "Touch ID" section.

    ImageUploadedByModMyi1404275269.065263.jpg

Plus also JB tweak icons too.

    Anything is possible!

Boots, just for future reference , when upgrading or reinstalling your iOS to re-JB, always do a true DFU restore not an update from iTunes or OTA. Always restore as new and not from backup up. As you've learned here when you use a backup, it is never a clean install. You are just dragging any crap with you into a nice clean install. This means that if you want to backup any of your stuff, that you must do it manually. Sometimes I do a semi-restore first to clean my phone as best that I can. Good luck.

I'm a little confused. My themes directory seems to be in the place it's always been. I only have an applications folder inside the new "_.XXXXX" folder. My themes folder is still "var/stash/Themes.XXXXX". Do I have an issue?

    iOS7.0.6, current Cydia update.

    Thank you.
