Are only the core files still extracted by the .car extractor? Are there existing themes I can get the names and sizes I need from? Are these themes possible yet? I've looked through a few threads and googled a few things but no real luck.

I also have a few animated gif wallpapers I'd like to get working if I could. They have a gif file and a url file pointing to the gif. I know basically how they work but I don't know why they don't in IOS7. (never tried 6) Appreciate any help at all.
    Pretty much nope.

Phone dialer stuff is in System/Library/PrivateFrameworks/TelephonyUI.framework

Pretty much mask files as reiterated before.

Back up your originals if u decide to manually theme or u could wait for WB

Awesome. Thanks. Weird thing is last night I opened the phone dialer and for about 2 seconds it was the old style (my themed) dialer and then it went to the IOS7 one. Any word on those animated wallpapers? Can I convert them to a dynamic wallpaper somehow?

That was your themed "Default" static Loading Screen - if you check your phone app theme folder for that image, you'll see that dialer that said hello for a couple seconds

Just to elaborate on what TC said, a static "default" png is shown as you would expect after the dialer (or any app for that matter) is launched. Apple use the static png to give the iOS time to render all the pngs as needed so we can interact with the app. Kinda tricking us that the app is ready to use in the first 1 - 2 seconds the app is launched when it isn't really. So that's why there is the static "final" looking view of the app when launched "Default" & then the separate pngs so we can interact with the app. Hope that helps.

Anyone know the location of the shadow when an app is tapped?

Does anyone know where the overlay for the Calendar (MobileCal) app is located? i changed the icon itself but apparently there's an overlay which dynamically changes the date to today's date on the icon itself (red month, black numbers)....any help would be greatly appreciated!!!

Looks like it. But I changed that one. You can only see it when the icon is touched. I've cleared the cache also.

Not sure, I checked my 4S & it does the same as yours. Almost like the AppIconMask or folder icon mask is still working in behind the scenes...???

I deleted every image I thought it might be and still no change. It appears to be the exact size as the original iconmask. Getting frustrated so I got to take a break.

    Yep. That's the file I renamed icon-114.
It really looks like when I was using Jaku and tried using the icon resizer on the Jaku repo page and then manually theme.
    Having said that...
I wonder if the 120 icon is a 'resized' 114, rather than actually rebuilt on a blank 120x120 canvas....
This would also explain why theme icons I've downloaded (with all drawn from scratch icons) at 120 don't do this but a few default icons shipped with App Store apps do...
They are just 'resizing' image, and the mask reveals it...

    Finding same issue w/Camera+...
And only on springboard/home screens. In folder issue disappears....???

Has anyone encountered a black background when changing the icon images?

Assumed it has something to do with the appicon mask... which is not the case.

I also want to change the icon for ifile... is it not recommended?

And is the AppIconMask in ios7 a different size than in iOS6? Even after I resized in PS the auros AppIconMask from 118x120 to 120x120.. And installed it in mobile icon frameworks.. It doesn't look the same on iOS 7.. It comes down further into the icon than it did in ios6. Anything I'm doing wrong?

Look at Settings & Photo icons.

^^^Agreed, looks weird, well iOS6 is 118x120 & iOS7 120x120. The iOS7 version is more rounded on the corners. But that's it really. Are your icons & AppIcon mask 120x120? I transferred my iOS6 icons (118x118) onto 120x120px canvases for iOS7

Actually the calendar thing was a matter of just renaming the masking files to disable them so IOS can't use them. In my case I just added a -1 to the end of file name.

go to //Applications/calendar then just rename [email protected]-1, [email protected]-1, [email protected]~iphone.png-1. As you can see I just added a -1 to the end, that way the file stays in there.

Then go to //System/Library/PrivateFrameworks/MobileIcons.framework, then rename [email protected]-1, [email protected]-1, [email protected]-1, [email protected]~iphone.png-1

Then of course, clear your icon cache and respring!

Just a matter of searching around and test and tune
