So please explain everything that you two did to make this work. I'm not completely understanding the entire process for theming these individual icons.

Okay. So go to library/preferencesbundles/[tweak name]bundle

Put the info.plist file in there. Then create a folder in your theme called com.preferences.settings
(Which your plist will point too).

Get the icon name from the [tweak name] bundle and put your icons in the preferences.settings folder that's in your theme. And call them whatever name you found in the tweak's bundle.

If you struggle give me a shout and I'll give you a hand.

They just added the info.plist most of us add to /Library/PreferenceLoader/Preferences

To their other tweaks that had no info.plist to assign a Bundle ID that WB can then hook.

Makes sense to me. Nice work guys.

Yea what Nick said. It's the same concept as theming the icons in the Preference folder.

It doesn't have a bundleidentifier, so by putting the plist in the tweak.bundles folder, it will point to the com.Preferences.Settings folder in your theme/Bundles

Even if a tweak doesn't have a settings icon, you can add one. In the tweaks plist, just add

    <key>icon</key>
    <string>(icon name).png</string>

Then make an image with the name chosen and you have an icon in the settings app.

Ok, so if you were making a theme to put on Cydia, how would you get that info.plist (that's associated w/ a tweak) into that tweaks PreferenceBundles folder?

It can't be applied w/ WB since WB doesn't allow Root access.

    Maybe I'm understanding incorrectly...

  11. #2907
You can always put a readme.txt instructing to add the Info.plist

Yes THIS is what all the big theme creators do.

README's it's all you can do AFAIK.

But also include the info.plist which I'm sure menard is referring to.

Oh, I see. So you would include a folder for PreferenceBundles, then let's say, folders for each tweak w/ their associated Info.plist inside those folders. And a README to explain what to do.

    That makes sense!

  16. #2910
Maybe even point to that directory in the .deb file? Haven't submitted any themes to cydia.

I wonder if there's any redirects for the PrefBundles folder inside the filesystem (similar to /Applications = /var/stash/Applications.xxxxx)

  18. #2912
Yes Jato, I would make a folder called ReadMe. In that include any documents with instructions how to install.

    I wondered the same thing...
Basically, it'd be creating that folder inside the filesystem. If the tweak exists, then it'd overwrite the existing info.plist. If it doesn't exist, then it's just a directory w/ no purpose

  21. #2914
Without knowing what tweaks the installer has on their device, it would have to be a fix that can apply to (most) tweaks. With general instructions.

I wouldn't try to overwrite anything. May cause problems. If you can even do that.

Agree just include the README with the info.plist & the end user will need to manually move/copy the info.plist to the tweak folders.

It may even be wise thazsar to do a dedicated post in your theme thread if you have one to help them out step by step visually.

Pictures are worth a 1000 words they reckon...

I assume you all have already tried but I decided to see if I could get the above ideas to work w/ WB. Unfortunately I couldn't get it up and running...

Did u manage to add the info.plist to the Preferences folder? I thought we helped out u in the past? Same concept applies with adding that same info.plist to other tweaks that have no info.plists by default.

This then gives those tweaks a valid Bundle ID that WB can then hook & theme.

    That's it

This is my first time playing w/ this idea. I was involved a little bit when we first discussed an easy way to theme these bit then I dismissed the idea.

    So:
    - Put the Info.plist in Lib/PrefLoad/Pref folder
    - I created the com.Preferences.settings folder.
    - Placed it in ThemeName.theme/Bundles
    - Added a SBCenterBlurrr.png in the com.Pref.sett folder
    * Icon won't display

Here's the deal. SBCenterBlurrr is located in:
    /Library/PreferenceLoader/Preferences/SBCenterBlurrr

The SBCenterBlurrr.plist has a string identifying that the icon will reside in the aforementioned folder. If I manually place the icon in there, then it worx. If I try it w/ WB, it won't take.

Anybody else have SBCenterBlurrr and successfully used WB to theme the icon?

    * I also don't know if I'm capitalizing correctly in the folders I've made. I've seen it as:
    com.Preferences.settings & com.Preferences.Settings.

Whatever name you assigned the CFBundleIdentifier in the made Info.plist should be the name of the folder in yourtheme/Bundles. The common name used is

    com.Preferences.Settings

    Copy all your icons from
    Library/PreferenceLoader/Preferences
    into your
com.Preferences.Settings folder that you made. The icon names have to be the same.

Theme the copied icons and it should apply in winterboard.

Gotcha! Well...it turns out I lied earlier!!! LOL! Apparently I needed to clear my cache. After I did that instead of respringing w/ WB, then my icon themed.

I had to place the Info.plist inside the SBCenterBlurrr folder, though.

Placing the Info.plist inside JUST the Preferences folder didn't work for this specific tweak.
