Theres no such thing like HD icons, all icons are the same. All icons will be compatible with the Retina Display.

Note: Im not sure how big the icons are supposed to be.

@mindgem, all icons may be compatible with retina but normal sized icons show up pixelated
All iphone4 ui images and icons are slightly bigger than normal, but they don't actually display larger because of the extra pixels. So there is technically no such thing as a HD Image, they're just bigger

if anyone can answer his question id love to hear it cause well im struggling to do this also because im using an old theme probably from 3GS on my iphone 4 and all the icons are just absolutely hideous, its heavily pixilated, im not asking for exactly HD icons but how can i make these theme icons less pixilated?

As the comment above yours says I know how! All you have to do is make icons bigger (112x112px) I think that's the right size
    Hope this helps ya

I made my icons 112x112 from 600x600 and they appeared larger than normal on the phone? One actually looks normal size the rest are larger than the icon should be. They are all the same size and same resolution according to PS.

Yup, happened to me too Reid, i changed the icon from i think it was 90x90 to 112x112, all it did was make the icon appear larger. Note im making theme icons not just app icons if that makes any sense. Like for SMS , or Mail etc.

I figured it out. Apparently it's completely different with the iPhone 4 themes.

Instead of creating a folder named "Icons" and naming the icon app.png you have to do this.

For the mail icon you need to create com.apple.mobilemail folder in a Bundles folder and then name the icon [email protected].

You do the same for each app you want to make the icons for.

    Mail - com.apple.mobilemail
    iPod - com.apple.mobileipod
    Phone - com.apple.mobilephone
    SMS - com.apple.MobileSMS
    Safari - com.apple.mobilephone

Yup. I was looking at the Suave HD theme and realized that's how they have theirs done and did it myself and it worked.

You have to make the icon at 120x120 or whatever but it'll make it the right size this time at least.

Obviously if the icon is smaller than that and you make it bigger it'll be pixelated.

I do not have a list. I just have what I see on other themes.

I see, and by bundles you mean the bundles folder in the theme folder itself right?
