Thread: Post Ringtone Requests Here

Hey guys quick question.. Is it possible to get these custom ringtones on my iPhone FW1.1.2OTB. I just purchased the iPhone as I already have an iTouch so I am familiar of how to work apps and etc but for some reason I update my iTunes from 7.4 to 7.5 and I click the preferences, click ringtones. I got the ringtone from here, file, add file, added the ringtone and it does not show in my list of ringtones.... Again I am using 1.1.2 FWotb which I activated and dowgraded to 1.1.1 then used optoprep and went to 1.1.2 and it jailbreaked. So I did everything right, just need to learn how to get these ringtones on.

    Thanks

EDIT LOL srry guys I figured it out, I guess I didn't have the sync button clicked with a check mark in the ringtones tab So now I just sync it and I went to my iPhone, went into ringtones and I have a Custom section... Is this correct? It shows standard and custom

    Thanks again

Is it possible to make these songs into ringtones

    Soulja Boy - Crank That
Grits - Oooh Ahhh (My life be like)
    Timbaland - Way I Are

    Thanks

I allways wanted a ringtone from the movie Top Gun.
Maybe when Maverick requsting a flyby and get the answer: Negative...
Or any anything other when you hear the fighters flying.

Ok, I hope this is the right place to ask this...

I purchased a ringtone from iTunes. It's Pink Floyd's Money. I love the ringtone better than any I've ever used, but I do wish it could be louder. I have tried the AudioAmp app (which did nothing at all) and I also did the hole poking in the speaker thing (that helped a little).

Question, Is there another way to boost the volume of the ringtone without having to make one from scratch?

    Thanks.

    Mark

Hey E-Dragon I got a question for ya. When u make the songs into ringtones, what level is the volume at? Like what I mean is do u play around with the settings to enhance the song/volume and etc. because when I put them on my iPhone they sound bad, static, quiet, lol There really good though but is there some way to make them sound clearer?
    Thanks again!

Nope they are at the same volume as recorded.. I will sometimes lower them a bit if I see the wave length almost maxed out across the board...
Hereís the problem most rap and heavy bass music is over saturated (recorded to loud) in most normal cases you can get away with this simply because the listener is pumping it thru a set of speakers that will separate it ( Bass, Mid, Treble ) The iPhone has just two very tiny speakers not much bigger than some earbudís and they are expected to be loud enough for you to hear them 5' away..

Are you mostly talking about Soldier Boy? I'll lower it down a bit...

    Try THIS

This should be asked in the general media section....

The rintones must be imported into iTunes and the only way to get them on your phone thru iTunes is to sync them in the ringtones tab that iTunes links with the rintones section...

Now right click that file and rename ".m4a" to ".m4r", and allow iTunes to refresh (or try playing the file still in your music folder). It should move the file to ringtones, which you can now access in iTunes > Ringtones and also sync with your iPhone.

Hey DirtyDan the brief tutorial was real helpful!

I just got one question, i reach the point where you have to rename the file, but when i rename it - its still an m4a file type (I'm only allowed to rename the 'name' or 'title' not the file type). So once i rename it, it is still and m4a and does not import into the ringtones section of itunes

Is there something i'm missing? I'm using windows btw

    any help will be appreciated!
