Thread: Failure to reboot?

    Default Failure to reboot?
I have an "older" 3GS, and I am using these instructions to jailbreak 4.2.1 using Redsn0w.

I get down to the third part of Step 10 (entering DFU mode), and before the 15 seconds to hold the home key is done, redsn0w says it's "waiting for reboot" (which is Step 11 in the tutorial).

And then it hangs there. How long should that part take?

Did you upgrade your iTunes to 10.1 yet? If so just try and pull the cable out and plug it back in and that sometimes kicks it to boot up.

I tried that, and while redsn0w is showing "waiting for reboot," the phone is off. When I start Itunes (10.1), it says it "has detected an Iphone in recovery mode." My only option at that point is to restore the phone via Itunes, because the phone won't even turn on.

Restore and try again. Are you using the latest Redsn0w 0.9.6b4
