    Wink Help?
Well hey guys im kinda new to this forum.

I have successfully jailbroken my iphone once before but now that i am trying to upgrade some people say that it upgrades the baseband or something and that you wont be able to unlock it. I am using an iphone 2g and the current softwar version is 3.0 i've been wanting to maybe go to 3.1.3 or just something that is more advanced seeing as some apps i want dont seem to work with the 3.0 firmware. So i'm just trying to find a safe way to upgrade while maintaining the unlock. Also does anyone know a good way to back-up all my stuff? or will i have to re-dl it?

Edit: sorry if i put this in the wrong section just realised lol.

Thanks alot in advance. I really appreciate your help.

Have you tried RedsnOw 0.9.2 iPhone Dev Team

    redsn0w 0.9.2 [iPhone Dev Team]

go to the bottom of page and select Windows or Mac.

Follow the tutorial below but ONLY use 3.1.2 firmware

    ModMyi Forums - Downloads - iPhone 2G 3.1.2

    ModMyi Forums - Downloads - iPhone 2G 3.1.2

then go to iClarified for Step by Step tutorial

iClarified - iPhone - How to Unlock/Jailbreak Your iPhone 2G on OS 3.1.3 Using RedSn0w (Windows)

Your 2G can always be unlocked. 2G basebands dont get upgraded so dont be afraid to click that "upgrade" button in iTunes. You could go to 3.1.2 if you want. MMS works better on that version.

You could very well use Blackra1n to jailbreak and Blacksn0w to unlock on 3.1.2 if you find problems with redsn0w.

Im sorry, BOOTNEUTER to unlock on a 2G
