Unhappy iPhone 3GS 3.0.1 wont start after ultrasn0w install and reboot
I just successfuly jailbroke a vanilla 3.0.1 iphone with redsn0w and ran Cydia, updated it, restarted Cydia then installed ultrasn0w and the poor thing just sits on restart apple logo then reboots after about 20 seconds.

I re-applied redsn0w and now it ends in ERROR after the DOS-type scrolling screen saying:

    ** Checking Catalogue file.
Incorrect number of thread records (4, 225)

    then finally

    ** Checking volume information.
** The volume Data could not be repaired after 3 attemps.
    Mounting rootfs as read-write...
    Mounting devfs...
    Mounting disk0s2s1...
    ERROR!

    Can anyone help:

    Is it bricked?

Do I have to restore in itunes to 3.1 and lose jailbreak and go with official carrier until fix?

I have done this before with 4 iPhones no problem, maybe the Cydia update broke UltraSn0w?

What are my options for taking back to Apple stire as I know they will ask if I haven't restored to 3.1 - official fix probably.

    TIA

There is a few other threads on this exact same problem. You can try to run iRecovery and see if that gets it out, but if not there is no other solution except to upgrade the phone at the moment.
