Default need help jailbreaking 3 g with 3.01 update
I have been messing around with my Iphone 3 g for the last week and I am about ready to trade it for a Palm. I am trying to jailbreak it with redsnOw 8.0 and all I get is a can not recognize ipsw error. I have pointed it at 3.0 ipsw and still continue to get the same error. I have downloaded the 3.0 firmaware from 20 different sites and still no progress.i have even tried using redsnOw 7.2. I can't figure out for the life of me what is going wrong. Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated.
I have jailbreaked my 3g s and didn't have any issues with that phone.

Redownload redsnow again. I had issues with my first download of it.

You sure you have the 3G firmware and not the 3Gs?

If you have the 3Gs firmware and try to target it for the 3G redsnow will crash. Don't ask me how I know this (spent an hour yesterday banging my head against my keyboard while jailbreaking my 3Gs and 3G lol)

I have tried re-downloading redsnow and it still doesn't work. I read somewhere I might have to delete the firmware updates from iTunes but I can't remember how. I also checked to make sure it was the correct firmware for the 3g and not the 3g s. I might try using redpwn.
