Thread: Can't use Redsnow

    Default Can't use Redsnow
I'm a newbie so be gentle! OK I have downloaded redsnow and run it and it doesn't matter if I use the original ipsw file or downloaded the ipsw file separately and tried it I constantly get the error unable to recognize specified ipsw. I am running Windows 7. I tried several different versions of redsnow and it keeps doing the same thing. I also tried compatibility mode on the file for Vista or XP to see if that would help

is the file extension .ipsw or .zip?

I've already changed it. It looks like redsnow has problems with the 3.0.1 ipsw image. I am trying the 3.0 version to see if that will work because I do not get the error with that one. Is there a newer version of redsnow I don't know about for 3.0.1?

Strange, I don't see Cellular Data Network. I see Enanle 3G, Data Roaming, VPN, and WIFI. Is there a hack I need to apply?

Yes, if you go in Cydia and just do a T Mobile search you will find several.

you will need wifi to do this though.

OK so I open up Cydia, search for T-Mobile using the search option at the bottom right is that correct? I am in the Netherlands running a vodafone sim. Do I search for vodafone instead?

Any body from Europe knows what I need to do to get my Cellular data Network settings back into a jailbroken phone?

    Default APN Vodafone NL
    Use these settings:

    APN: live.vodafone.com
    Username: vodafone
    Password: vodafone
    Do hope that helps

I was able to acquire the Cellular data network box by loading yellowsnow. The box then appeared and I used the settings above
