Put your phone in DFU mode and restore to a legit version of itunes' ipsw file. Visit Dev-Team Blog and download redsn0w to jailbreak and unlock. Then in cydia the app is called ActivateMMS2G

The only thing that I am worried about is where did you get your ipsw file from? If its a 3G file, you may have screwed up your phone. If its a 2G, then you'll be fine.

Plug your phone in and hold power and home button until screen goes black. Then (keeping both buttons pressed) start counting to 10, then release the power button (while keeping the home button pressed) until itunes detects your iphone in recovery mode. Reinstall the 3.0 firmware and run the redsn0w tool to rejailbreak.
