Thread: All Kinds of Trouble Jailbreaking 3Gs on 4.3.3

  1. #1
I had a 3Gs on 3.1.2 that I wanted to jailbreak, so I created a custom firmware for 4.3.3 using PwnageTool. I tried to restore to that firmware, and everything went fine, but when it finished, it immediately went back into recovery mode. I've tried everything possible, including running it through redsn0w, re-jailbreaking it on PwnageTool, and trying a different computer, but nothing works. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

I tried following this as well, to no avail: Exit iOS 4.3.3 Recovery Mode Loop Using TinyUmbrella (Fix Recovery) | Jaxov

Here is the terminal log from when I ran the fixrecovery43 Unix file on my Macbook:

No error at all. My phone just refuses to exit recovery mode, no matter what I try.

Did you start tss server or you are verifying your 4.3.3 restore with Apple server ?

I started the TSS server when I originally jailbroke it with Pwnage. I deleted all references to gs.apple.com in my hosts file and have unchecked "Set Hosts to Cydia on Exit" and "Request SHSH from Cydia" in TU.

Like I said, I'm not having any issues at all jailbreaking. The problem is that after I jailbreak, I'm stuck in a recovery mode loop.

I guess you do need the unlock , right and fix recovery did not help, hmmm.

The thing to do now seems to be to restore to stock 4.3.3 and jailbreak using redsn0w, but since I rely on ultrasn0w to unlock my phone for T-Mobile, I can't do that. Frustrated.

Could this have anything to do with the fact that I forgot to save my SHSH blobs while still in 3.1.2? I thought that it wouldn't matter since I'd be using Pwnage and preserving my baseband.

Build another custom firmware and restore to it or even try it on a PC machine if you have it. If this doesn't help and if you have any shsh blob lower than 4.1 fw, then restore to stock again to bring your iphone out of recovery mode.
