Default Quickpwn crashes when double clicking exe...
Whenever I try to open Quickpwn 2.2.1's exe, I automatically get the "Quickpwn has encountered an error and needs to close" message. I do have .NET framework 3.5, and I followed so many guides to no avail... Please help. I'm trying to jailbreak (not unlock) my iPhone 3G that came with a stock 2.2.1.

here is the log that i get..

    Code:
/home/planetbeing/xpwn-back/pwnmetheus/windows.c:GetDeviceDLL:164: looking for driver at iTunesMobileDevice.dll
    /home/planetbeing/xpwn-back/pwnmetheus/windows.c:LoadWindowsDLL:246: failed to load AMRecoveryModeDeviceSetAutoBoot
    /home/planetbeing/xpwn-back/pwnmetheus/windows.c:AMRestoreEnableFileLogging:347: calling Windows AMRestoreEnableFileLogging

Which version of iTunes are you running? You should be at at LEAST 8.0. It looks like the correct iTunesMobileDevice driver isnt loading. If you do have the correct version of iTunes, then you should open iTunes before trying to use quickpwn.

I just upgraded to iTunes 8.1, and followed your instructions, but to no avail. My log does look different, though.

    Code:
/home/planetbeing/xpwn-back/pwnmetheus/windows.c:GetDeviceDLL:164: looking for driver at iTunesMobileDevice.dll
/home/planetbeing/xpwn-back/pwnmetheus/windows.c:initWindowsPrivateFunctions:118: Enter dll version lookup loop
    /home/planetbeing/xpwn-back/pwnmetheus/windows.c:initWindowsPrivateFunctions:132: iTunes Version Major cd0007 Minor d
    Unsupported iTunesMobileDevice.dll Version Major cd0007 Minor d
    /home/planetbeing/xpwn-back/pwnmetheus/windows.c:AMDeviceNotificationSubscribe:322: calling Windows AMDeviceNotificationSubscribe
    /home/planetbeing/xpwn-back/pwnmetheus/windows.c:AMRestoreRegisterForDeviceNotifications:335: calling Windows AMRestoreRegisterForDeviceNotifications

Are you running XP or Vista? If you are running Vista, try right clicking on Quickpwn and "run as administrator" see if that helps.

You might also try downloading Quickpwn 2.2.5 again

Default i finally fixed the same problem
i finally unlock my iphone 2G that i "restaured" wih firmware 2.2.1, after a lot of crashes of quickpwn.

The key is the message in your log:
"iTunes Version Major cd0007 Minor d
Unsupported iTunesMobileDevice.dll Version Major cd0007 Minor..."

i finally used a itunes 7.7.1, it's important the version if u want to use quickpwn 2.2.5. And if u used another one version, i tried before, i get another message in log that means i'm not using the correct "Apple Mobile Device Support" version. U need de 2.0.1.5 (u can get it in the same iTunesSetup771.exe If u open this exe with Winrar u see a few exe more inside, one of them is the Apple Mobile Device Support).

i try a lot of .net versions, and finally work for me with 3.5 sp1 on a Windows XP. I don't try in a Vista.

i spend a lof of hours with this... so if i can help other weill be great.
