Default new phone is at s/w 2.1 (5F136)
    f/w 02.11.07
I havent activated it yet but trying to use>
    2.2.0 (3G): iPhone1,2_2.2_5G77_Restore.ipsw and Pwnage -225-2

How do I get this phone to update 2.2 so I can jailbreak it with these tools?

    TY

You have to update in Itunes.

Then, jailbreak with Quickpwn or Pwnage.

And Pwnage only creates a custom FW, which you then have to install with Itunes.

If you have a copy of 2.2, then you can hit "Shift-Restore" and it will allow you to choose the 2.2 firmware file.

If you wanna go to 2.2,follow the link&download iPhone1,2_2.2_5G77_Restore.ipsw to your desktop. Also download quickpwn 22-1(not 225-2).You can find it on this site or on iClarified site.
On itunes hold down shift, choose your iPhone1,2_2.2_5G77_Restore.ipsw which is placed on desktop&restore. Then use quickpwn....
