Thread: Custom Payload

    Default Custom Payload
I have googled and searched these forums and I can't find anybody mentioning what EXACTLY that is. When I choose the button myself, it seems to want to browse for a TAR file (which is basically an archive file just like RAR or ZIP). I know I don't need to use it, but I would like to know what it is. I think, but I'm not sure, that this option is for loading apps into the firmware you're making, so that when you pwn your phone, you won't have to install programs all over again. Like I said, I'm not sure but thats what I'm assuming. And personally, I would love to be able to do that. I have some...how to say this..."sppa dekcarc" that I'd like to just include into the firmware so I don't have to SSH them all back into my phone when I am done pwning. Anyway, I'm not asking how to do this, just simply what is that Custom Payload option, and are my assumptions about it correct?

    Okay,
Basically, "Payloads/Packages/Bundles" allows you to send files to the iPhone from the ".ipsw". The WinPWN uses this to send:
    1. Cydia.
    2. Youtube Fix.
    3. Installer.

Some advantages from this would be that you can send, well in my case:
    1. AppSupport.
    2. MobileInstallation Patched.

The "Payloads/Packages/Bundles" must be in ".TAR" format, you can use "http://7-zip.org/" to do thhis!

Sadly, the only thing that i can't get around of is the Permission; I think Cydia basically uses the "lauchdeamons" to do this.

If anyone has more information on ermissions please help me out !

WinPwn actually automatically sets all files in your custom payload to full permissions, I use the custom payload feature myself for random system images and patched MobileInstallation and everything works a treat

It didn't for me, it set MobileInstallation as 444 which should be 775!
What I had to do is edit the "bsd2permissions.lst" and add what permissions you want to change!
