Thread: Long boot after pwning?

    Default Long boot after pwning?
I pwned my phone and so far I have not had any problems whatsoever.

However, I feel like it takes alot longer to boot than it used to...

I don't even care really, the phone works fine, its not that big of a deal if it is really the case...

My sister is coming over later, she has a non modded first gen, I'm going to do a boot race later to see if there is really a change.

I am just wondering if it is in my head or not, has anybody else noticed this?

Same thing here. My iPhone now takes a couple of minutes to boot into ready mode from a cold start.

    interesting....

I'll tell you one thing though, oddly enough my phone seems much more stable now than before I pwned it when it was only running stock 2.0 firmware.

My first gen iPhone was never Jailbroken or anything all the way untill 2.0. And when I had just ordinary 2.0 my apps would crash left and right. Then sometimes the screen would flash white and the whole phone would hard restart. This happened quite often. But it hasn't happened once after pwning....

Same here. Old phone and the new 3G (prior to pwning) booted up from being off in 30 seconds. Now my 3G takes at least 50 seconds and sometimes longer if I had just recently installed from App Store or Cydia.

No worries though, as it runs great.

Ok so here are the numbers for anyone who cares,

There is not as much as a difference as I thought

From a cold start, the phones were rebooted and timed for how long it would take to reach the home screen:

Her phone, Stock first gen w/ 2.0 firmware, 27.12 seconds
My pwned 2.0 first gen 36.23 seconds

I used a nike stop watch so I guess you would have to figure in human reaction time....

Yes indeed, if mine is under a minute and a half, I'm lucky.
