Thread: Problems with Spirit Download

    Default Problems with Spirit Download
For the past week, I am unable to download spirit. I get a message that a Trojan (Artemis!) was blocked. In addition, I get some nonsense about needing an adminstrator's permission. Then when I continue, I get some nonsense about contacting Microsoft for permission. Anyone try to download spirit within the past week and get the junk I am getting? Any solutions? One last thing. About six weeks ago, I did manage to download and save spirit on my desktop, but it mysteriously disappeared.

Yes. That is the site where I downloaded it a couple of weeks ago without a problem. Went back last week to save for future needs and that is when I encountered the problem. I use windows 7 and McAfee security suite on my laptop.

Before you try and download it again temporally disable mcafee.

What's your rationale here? When I downloaded spirit a couple weeks ago, McAfee was running. Are you implying that spirit.exe suddenly looks like the Artemis! Trojan? Help me out.

Yes, all it takes is someone to report it and it will see it as a virus.

Appreciate it. Turned off the firewall and Spirit downloaded without a problem. Like you said, someone must have reported it within the past two weeks.
