Default Safari Works, but Apps have no 'Net Connectivity
Background: I recently successfully jailbroke and unlocked my US iPhone (original, 3.1.3) and put in a People's Mobile SIM card to use here in Hong Kong. The guy at the People's Mobile store gave me the APN (peoples.net), which I put in the phone settings. I didn't put in any login information, since he didn't say anything about that. I activated the data service, also.

Problem: I'm able to go to web pages on Safari, but I can't do anything else involving the internet. In other words, I can't check my e-mail, and none of the apps have internet connectivity.

Why is this? Is it just that the carrier only allows webpage data? Is app data and WWW data transmitted differently, or is it based on different settings? How to do I get the apps to have internet connectivity too?

Thanks for any help anyone can provide.

Nevermind, problem solved. I'd delete this post, but the iPhone version of the forums doesn't seem to allow that.
