Thread: {Tweak} iconOmatic [beta]

  1. #81
Everyone. We are trying to work out the bug with the shadow file not resizing when using an icon scaling app. We may end up including this function in the tweak. I assume most use bigify just to resize

I'm now noticing the slight transparent outline around the icon depending on the background darkness.

if you want to make your own overlay or the icon is a different size/shape, then you will have to make a new mask file and place that into a winterboard theme. then put your overlay in the theme section of this app.
thanks. do i have to rename the overlay once in the theme section of iconomatic?

    This is true...but..
..so if you're using 1.01-1.03 it's best to update evasi0n through cydia asap.
This is untrue. The security fix came through as part of the evasi0n untether package as an update on Cydia for all users who were jailbroke already on 1.0.0-1.0.3. There's NEVER a need to 'rejailbreak' - ever - after an update to the jailbreak tool's version. Evad3rs make this clear on their website. But thanks anyway..

So Suby (GREAT tweak by the way - well done, bro!!!) you and Anthony are both still on 1.0.2 of evasi0n?

And Happy, you're on 1.0.4 jailbreak? But WERE on 1.0.2 when you first had trouble with IconOMatic?

Okay - if Suby and Anthony are on 1.0.2 then "I got nothin'".. If they're on 1.0.4 that could be something. We don't like to think the evasi0n tool version can have anything to do with this.. But I've learned that that's just not the case.. The jailbreak tool version CAN play into this.

Are you perchance restoring from a backup at all when you restore/rejailbreak? Or set up as new phone.. You're a veteran - I'm sure you know to never restore from backup when troubleshooting like this.. Right?

No newD made that mistake 5 years ago! Lol usually only make same mistake once! I'm totally clueless newD! Should be no difference in my phone then any of the rest yours! Started as a brand new phone no apps except what comes with it and only Cydia and ifile downloaded from jailbreak? I guess my poor icons are just meant to be flat! Hope someone figures it out!

What's really weird is it looks like only 2 of us are having this problem!

If Suby will send me a test copy I'll try on my end and see if I can come up with anything..

I've also learned over doing this for several years.. that even a DFU restore does NOT erase and reformat the hard drive of an iPhone. So file corruption can still be there.. One of the proofs that even a DFU restore is not a 'wipe' action - is that after you DFU restore - when you get to the DO YOU WANT TO USE ICLOUD window - your user name appears there already without you entering it. The only time that window is blank is the day you buy the phone and first set it up. So obviously SOME files are NOT wiped when you restore.

My 'educated guess' is that your MobileFrameworks folder is corrupt and not getting reset even through a DFU restore.

Get Suby to zip up his MobileFrameworks folder for you.. and then replace yours with his. Reboot.. And see if all is well..

I had trouble and tried resprings, clearing icon cache, etc. But when I installed User Agent Faker which installs Rocket Bootstrap this tweak started to work. 👍😃

    It looks great!

by the sounds of it, you need to make a smaller mask .png to remove the frame. this mask .png will then have to be put in a winterboard theme for it to work correctly.

if you send me a screenshot with a txt file saying what you are trying to achieve, then i'll try and make it for you.

thing is...it worked for me, without RocketBootStrap. but it could be added to say, "if it doesn't work for you, try adding this..."

but congrats Happy on getting it to work.
