    These are awesome. Can we get this to work in 2.0? I installed Lighttpd frm Cydia in 2.0 and it doesn't work OOB. Do we have PHP in 2.0? Lets make this work in tutorail.

    Good stuff guys!

    As far as I can see, there's no PHP compiled for 2.0 yet, but once that's been done, it should work pretty much the way it did before. As I mentioned above, I didn't get a daemon installed with lighttpd, but the old one worked fine with a simple modification.

    sorry, noob here.. is there an alternative to PHP? what about the iphone GCC that comes with cydia?

    GCC is a compiler dude

    I just got an iTouch ('free' with my new MacBook). Out of the box I upgraded to 2.0 and jailbroke it. Works fine (ok there was a lot of waiting around, but now it's fine).

    Tried to install lighttpd, and I have none of these directories and no daemon. I've restarted my phone several times. This is the same issue as bnguyen, I'm guessing.

    What am I missing?

    Was wondering is there a way to list the images i have in its file name instead of showing it as a list of images, as i have quite a number of photos in 1 folder and its slow loading to scroll it down. if its possible to list as file names it could be quite useful.

    ^ All you have to do is to delete this par of code

                    < !-- JPG/JPEG/GIF/PNG -->
                    < ?php if ( == '.jpg' ||  == '.jpeg' ||  == '.gif' ||  == '.png') { ?>
                        < ?php echo '< a href="' .  . '" />< li>'; ?>
                        < !--< img src= "<?php echo ; ?>" height="15" width="15">
                        < ?php echo '&nbsp;' . substr(h(()), 0, strripos(h(()), '.')); ?>-->
                        < img src ="< ?php echo ; ?>" width="280" />
                        < ?php echo '</li></a>'; ?>
    from .dirlist/dir-generator.php file.

    For those of you wanting to setup lighttpd on 2.0 go to this link. This method starts you out fresh, so you don't need any backup files from your old working lighttpd before 2.0.

    Worked great for me! Now just waiting for PHP release

    I'm having a similar problem with mp3/mp4 files. Everything used to work just fine, but now I've got a lego block for a video icon, the audio icon is the unknown.

    I've read just about every post in this thread. And the other one.

    Maybe some other package messed up the MIME types? Nah.
    But what else can I look at....?

    1.1.4 running the 1.5.1 code. If that matters.

    Actually, it was a PHP file generated every time you open that folder/site. Giving you just the .php file would lead to nowhere as it's just a bunch of lines.

  17. #157
    I see, does this work on 2.0 too? I'll check it out soon.

    I've never tried it on 2.x (there was no Lighttpd/PHP for 2.0 when 2.0 arrived). There are several other more/less polished apps that do exactly the same.
    Files, Finder, Air Sharing...

  19. #159
    Hmm, okay thanks. I'll try that!

    Other apps don't open videos and such..

    I just wait for the php-cgi 2.x ver cause i needed also for uploading files and stuff..

    damn they take too long this time with it!
