Thread: automated login to school wifi

Default automated login to school wifi

My school uses an open wifi network with authentication submitted via a web interface. When you try to load a page, it redirects you to a sign-in interface which submits a username/password pair (or e-mail address for guest authentication).

What I want to do is run an app or bash script via Tapp to automatically submit this information so I don't have to open Safari and enter it every time I use the network at school, or every time I let the device idle and lock which drops connection. Even submitting it via a bookmarklet would be a big improvement over entering a un/pw combo ten times a day.

Depending on the school you go to, you might find that using DeviceScape's iPhone app might do the trick for ya automatically.

It works flawlessly at UC Berkeley where I go, and a number of other schools.

Check it out here: and their main site:

    It on installer to boot!

Hmm... I keep getting errors with it. I had them add my university but it does not seem to work. I get the "error" message when trying to connect.
