Thread: Has anyone added "wget" to the iPhone?

Default Has anyone added "wget" to the iPhone?
Has anyone gotten wget installed in the terminal application?

It seems to me that we could use that to download files to the file system like new wallpapers or button images.

    Or websites.

Then if you have Apache installed, you can run the Apps right from the iphone instead of using the Net.

It's nice in theory. In practice however it sucks. All that typing to get one file. I only did it because I was away from WiFi and a computer with an SSH client for a week.

I'd use it occasionally. Plus, I have my own web host and cam make sure the URL's are short.

    How did you install it?

I'm not familiar with wget, but isn't this what curl is for? Curl is part of the binkit, so no further installation needed.

Oh, it is? Didn't know that.

    Niftycool. Thanks!

I used curl which is in the Bin kit as posted above. The part that sucked was the typing. It's not as bad now that term-v100 can repeat previous commands. At least now if you mess up it doesn't take as long to fix it.
