Default Dock screenshot utility where is it putting pictures not in my picture roll?
it will take the screenshot and I hear the shutter but its not putting the picture anywhere in my iphone that I can find. I searched forever with mobile finder and cant find it anywhere..

Any clue why it doesnt work or why its not putting it where its supposed to?

    thanks in advance.

3x yeah I cant figure it out.. BSD subsystem check.. Dock check.. No other springboard mod check..

I have taken the screenshot like 9x and it makes all the noises and goes thru the motions but no pictures to be found.

I was having this problem yesterday too. By any chance is your Camera Roll empty?

Mine was empty and I took just any old shot with my camera, then the screenshots worked

If you don't see the screenshots you've taken in the Camera Roll or in Photo Library, then they're in the /tmp/ directory of your iPhone.

i had the same problem, then i took a pic w/ the camera, then tried a screenshot again and it worked perfect. It showed up in my camera roll. That's odd.

    tryed it 100x

it doesnt work, and I can get to the tmp folder with mobilefinder and I am not fluent enough in terminal to do that stuff..

What really sucks is I cant take screenshots for the themes I am creating which becomes a real frickiing problem

    Glad I could help.
Mobile Finder cannot access the whole file system, I believe.
Please refer to my instructions here, if you're interested in getting access to your iPhone's filesystem from your computer, and accessing the screenshots in /tmp/ from your computer:

i have summerboard (the newest one on installer.app) and dockswap installed, and Dock 2.0.6 or w/e still takes accurate screenshots. maybe you guys need to update them?

or mess up doing ssh 2x trying to figure out the password, which results in two restores and now it works

see thats the key, screw up twice, restore twice, reinstall and it works

Here's what seems to be the solution. I don't know why, but it worked.

    1. Restore.
    2. Then, install AppTapp.
    3. Install Community Source and the BSD Subsystem.
    4. Install Dock.
    5. Take a regular picture with the Camera
    6. Take a screenshot with Dock.
    7. After verifying it works, then install all the other stuff you want.

This worked for me, twice. Try it and let me know.

Thanks for this - my situation is a little different to yours, as I only recently 'jailbroke' the phone. But I had no screengrab images showing up anywhere, and just followed Steps 5,6 above (as there was previously nothing in the Camera Roll) - and it worked just fine after that.
