If it would just have a possibility to remove the last digit entered, like a delete button, it would be highly appreciated.

I'd also like the calculator to hold numbers in memory even if you go to another app and come back. My V3 RAZR did this with no problem.

I can live without graphing, and am happy to contribute $50 towards a HP48 RPN calculator native app.

    Requirements:
    Reverse Polish Notation
HP48 key layout on a single screen
    Visible registers
    swap function
    Functional trig and exponentiation

    Nice to haves:
    iPhone style typewriter keys
independent scrolling of keyboard and register area to switch "shift" modes
    graphing for everybody else

    Default Me too!
I would really like to have a native RPN calculator app for the iPhone, preferably an HP11, 15, 41, or 48 emu. Then I could ditch my 11c and 15c calculators at home and work.

Another potential source for code is nonpareil HP calculator simulator for OS X. This can simulate many of the classic HP calculators.

iPHCalc appears to be window dressing on the native calculator app shipped with the iPhone, with some hope of adding to it to incoporate higher math functions. It would seem to me that it would be more straightforward to port the nonpareil or the emulators NicoX referenced to the iPhone since they have already been ported to OS X.

FWIW, there are 2 engineers I work with who have said that they would spring for an iPhone if it had an HP equivalent RPN calculator native.

We need someone with some experience in iPhone apps to at least look at those codes and say how probable is to have them working ...

I would be happy to contribute (time, $$ or what it takes ...), but we need somebody to take the lead

Come on .. i´m sure there´s more people wanting this ...

Someone already posted a link to a calculator replacement that is being worked on, IPHCalc... I dunno if they have many more improvements over the default as of yet, but there are plans for decimal/hex/binary conversion and other features...

Default bounty for a hp-48 look alike!
iphcalc is a long way from what I am looking for, at least now. I can up my bounty offer to $100-- who will join me?

Graphing and programmability can wait for 2.0, but the base functions of the hp with a similar layout and rpn, plus the typewriter style animations would go a long way to help me cut out that awful slate when I go to meetings...

Sad that Apple made such a lame calculator...
