    Default NES ROM's
Hi and season's greetings to everyone,

I have a question regarding NES ROM's. I did numerous searches (not only in this forum) and was not able to come up with an answer. OK, here is the issue...

I've uploaded NES ROM's to my iPhone using AFP to the instructed folder (var/root/Media/ROMs/NES). Everything works as it should except on the games list. It seems that I have everything duplicated. At the top of the list I have all my ROM's listed with the prefix .AppleDouble/xxxxxx (where "xxxxxx" is the name of the ROM). I've attached a couple of pix to show what I mean.

My question is how come all my file names are repeated in that fashion and how do I get rid of all those .AppleDouble/xxxxxx?

    thanks,
    e

Swipe to delete them, making sure you turn 'delete' on in the NES settings

Thanks for the quick response. I don't see a "delete on" options in NES settings. I am running NES version 2.0.1 and in settings I have these options:

    General Options:

    Auto-Save Game ON
    Swap A/B OFF
    Allow Suspend ON
    Full Screen ON
    Sensory Pad OFF
    Game Genie ON

    Advanced Options:

    Frame Skip A
    Color Palette A
    CPU Clock 339
    Bass Boost OFF

After that is a list of Game Genie Codes.

    Thanks,
    e

Hmm, that option must have been removed from the latest update, thought it was still there.

I can only guess you must have created another folder with roms in it, check what's in the var/root/Media/ROMs/NES folder. Could be there's another directory in there

No, I've checked several times and there is no extra folder there. I have only the one "ROMs" folder with only one "NES" folder in there and nothing else. In the NES folder, I have all the games (xxxxx.nes) and as well the saved files (xxxxx.sav). Nothing else (please see screenshots). That's why I'm a little stumped.

    thanks,

Ya, I figured so but wanted to see if anybody else has experienced the same thing.

It is not a bug, it is how OS X works. AFP creates those .AppleDouble/xxxxxx files, and they are invisible on the mac (any file on a mac starting with a full-stop is treated as an invisible file). NES just shows those invisible files as-well. If you use cyberduck, you will see the same files that NES sees, and you can delete the . files in the ROM directory.

Ya, any time you use AFP to put things on your phone, it leaves those Apple Double folders on your phone. It's really annoying, but I just delete them.

How do you delete them? I just used both Transmit and Cyberduck to check as suggested by jrentzke but I don't see the .Apple files in Cyberduck (see attached screenshot) or in Transmit. What am I missing/doing wrong? Should I maybe just remove the ROM's using AFP, and then SSH them into my phone?

    thanks,
    e

EDIT: Removing the files and then SSH'ing them using FTP client (I used Transmit) works in getting rid of the offending .AppleDouble files. Thanks for the tips.

Sorry I didn't see this earlier! You can also install Finder on your phone, you can see the .Apple folders in Finder and can delete them there.
