Default iOS 8 - Cydia INSTALL & Password Bug FIXED!!! Mac Tutorial
*** Oct. 30, 2014: Cydia Installer has been updated to address this specific bug! You've been forewarned before trying these steps...***

Hey all, I'm writing this to inform you of a solution for the Password glitch after installing Cydia on iOS 8 using the Pangu 1.0.1/1.0.2 jailbreak. For those that don't know, if you enable a password after installing Cydia, your device will freeze up after a Reboot and you'll have to restore...

So, with help from our friend, Anonomys, he pointed me towards THIS LINK and now i'm simplifying the process w/ a tweak I created!

***This cannot be used if you've already installed AND used Cydia. It has to be applied prior to Preparing the Filesystem...***

    - First, jailbreak your iOS 8 device using Pangu 1.0.1
    - Next, download CyberDuck for Mac
    - Then download my files from HERE

Once your jailbroken, we need to get Cydia onto your device...

You MUST be on a WiFi Network for this!!!
Download all the files from the Pangu.app on your phone (OpenSSH, adv-cmds, Vi IMproved)
    - Find your iDevice's IP/Server Address (192.168.1.3 for myself) from the info button next to the WiFi Network you're connected to.
    -photo-oct-25-01-24-56-copy.jpg
    - Open Cyberduck and click OPEN CONNECTION
    - Choose SFTP (SSH File Transfer Protocol)
    - Server: IP Address from your iDevice
    - Username: root
    - Password: alpine
    Hit CONNECT
    -cd-connect.png

Now your connected to your phone!

In CyberDuck, at the top middle of the window, there's a drop-down section. Click the '/' mark
    -cd-drop.png
*Double-Click while navigating the different folders cuz it's easier to do things that way*
    - Navigate to: /var/root/Media
    - Drag/Drop MY Cydia folder into the Media Folder
    -direct.png
    - Now, go into; /var/root/Media/Cydia/AutoInstall
    -debs.png

    Installing the apps:
    - In CyberDuck's menu bar, click GO
    - Choose: OPEN IN TERMINAL.APP
    -go.png
    - Once Terminal is open, type in the password which is: alpine
    -terminal.png

    - Type: dpkg -i 12.deb
    Press Return/Enter

    - Type: dpkg -i 13.deb
    Press Return/Enter

    - Type: dpkg -i pwboot.deb
    Press Return/Enter

Now, use CyberDuck to navigate to:
    /usr/libexec/cydia

    - Drag/Drop the move.sh file I provided
    -move.png

    REBOOT again and YOU'RE DONE!!!

NOTE *If you used the Pangu 1.0.1 jailbreak, UPDATE to 'Pangu 8.0-8.1 Untether v0.2' via Cydia, afterwards*

I installed this, reboot is working now, but SMS message forwarding is not appearing in preferences. Anybody else have this problem?
Bluetooth is on, signed in to the same iCloud account on my phone and MacBook. It was working before, but now the option doesn't come up in my phone. Any ideas?

    EDIT:

Nevermind, after logging out of iCloud and back on, it's working. for some reason my phone number was not showing up as an option with iMessage. all is good now.

I had already replied to you in that other thread first, my bad!

CyberDuck is for Mac and PC. As long as you can get Terminal access w/ the PC (which I know is possible) then everything should be the same!

You can also use WinSCP but I don't know the instructions for that program, sorry...

Great thank you because I used WinSCP to jailbreak earlier. I will try again later with your instructions. Thank you so much.

Saurik has commented on reddit to stay away from this for now and wait for an update to the untether package and cydia which will fix this issue, even for people who have already run Cydia.

Great tutorial, Thaz! Worked perfectly for me!

And for the naysayers... Saurik is always a little conservative because he's the one that gets all the email when something's not working. .. Jailbreak away, gang! I'm loving all the theme stuff that's running on my phone now!

    @Desepticon,
It prolly is true that Saurik is advising against this method but it's a working jailbreak fix. I've always jailbroke for the learning aspect, so having to restore and try again is no big deal for me!

Me too. Jailbreaking is all about discovery.

Nobody can tell me I don't have a stable jailbreak now. I've been up and running - fully themed phone, Lockscreen weather widgets, etc. For 48 hours now. No problems at all. You all who want to stay on the sidelines.. your call.. 👍 Not me.😜

What are some of the tweaks you're using? I'm going to try this again now.

I'm having problems with the step that says: In CyberDuck, at the top middle of the window, there's a drop down section. Click the '/' mark. I don't have '/' in my drop down section. It just says Quick Connect. -imageuploadedbymodmyi1414342630.847350.jpg
