Thread: Bootstrap error on AppTap

  1. #1
    Default Bootstrap error on AppTap
My girl just had her phone replaced so I tried running AppTap 3.1 from her MBP and iTunes 7.4.2. Half way through I keep getting a bootstrap error and I have to do a full restore to get it out of recovery mode.

    Is 3.1 compatible with 7.4.2?

Should I just AppTap on my Powerbook with my older version of iTunes (I kept 732 and 74)?

I've made her two themes, honey bee and alfa romeo, and she's gonna be pissed if she has to go back to stock graphics. LOL

How do I tap dat phone?

I have not confirmed it working, but I have heard a couple people say they haven't got it working.

i am running into the exact same problem as you.

does your phone say "No Service"?

on HoFo they are telling me to reflash the baseband. i was reading up on it and it looks like something i am not capable of.

It would give me the bootstrap error and then leave the phone in recovery mode. A full restore would fix that easily. I still have iTunes 732 and 741 so I may try restore the phone using one fo those, apptap it and then resync to her info on her computer. Syncing mine of 742 doesnt affect any of the hacks.

    Thats the solution.

    1. Sync in iTunes 7.4.2
    2. Restore in 7.4.1 or earlier
    3. Run the latest AppTap
    4. Resync in 7.4.2 to get your info back on
