They're in the Applications folder in each applications individual folder called icon.png.

    When I type:

    "cd /Applications/VNotes/"

    it says no directories exist

but when I type "cd /Applications/" it works but when I type "putfile icon.png" the icons are not changed

what are the name of the files? ex. VNotes_icon.png?

Haven't tried manually changing the icons for any of the new apps. Sorry I can't help with that. Have you tried one of the drag and drop solutions like Fugu through ftp?

    Check out this guide here:

    you might try doing:

    /Applications/VNotes.app/icon.png

i would definitely recommend that you install ssh and the sftp-server, its much easier to add/remove icons from your phone with Fugu.
