Default changing sms/voicemal alerts with cyberduck?
i updated my ringtones through this tutorial
    http://www.iphonealley.com/forums/showthread.php?t=743

i can see the alerts under SMS, voicemail, etc, but am not really sure how to change it. the files are .db instead of mp3. i pasted an mp3 file in there, then changed the name to a .db, but do i have to delete the original in order for it to work? does simply changing the name as i did create a valid sound?
i want to make sure i'm doing this right before i delete a file and find out i messed up.

    thanks!!

Using Cyberduck is just like using anyother program, the path is still the same. System/Library/Audio/UISounds

To change a voicemail sound it needs to read voicemail.caf. Convert your mp3 file to an AIFF file, save it to your desktop, rename it and then manually change the .aiff portion to .caf

so do i just delete the alert that is already in the phone? then the new alert will automatically replace it?

how do you change what time of alert it is (db, caf, etc)?

    thanks!

Lets say you're replacing you sms sound. That file reads sms-received.caf. Take your new file that you want and convert that to AIFF in iTunes. Drag to the desktop, then slowly double click the file and rename it to sms-received.caf / or highlight the file and press Apple-I. You can also change the file name in the info screen.

Then you open the UISounds directory, and drag the new file into that directory, and it will replace the old one.

What are you confused about? Be specific.

so, using ifuntastic i just go to the media sounds folder and simply delete the "sms-received.caf" alert, replace it with my own sound, and rename it the same "sms-received.caf"?

what should i do first delete or replace?
