Default HOW to mod "slide to unlock"
I want to make my text to say "do work son" but i don't know, if you make a masking .png and replace the slider area or just write new text.

PS: How come when i edit the spirngboard.strings and try to save it makes me add a file extension? (I am using OmniOutliner). Will that be readable by the iphone?

I wouldn't use OmniOutliner. Well, maybe it will work. I use Property List Editor.

can someone further explain this process please? So i downloaded "SpringBoard.strings (4.1 KB)" im already in TERMINAL, did jailbreak, iphoneinterface and typed " cd /System/Library/CoreServices/SpringBoard.app" and am now in springboard. Do I put this new "springboard.strings" INTO my phonedmg folder? After that..how do I change the text on the "SLIDE TO UNLOCK"? ( I want it to say "slide here nucka" ) Thanks, im gettin everything else but there isnt a write up on this(or is there?

I also opened up the program with text edit and found :
    "<key>AWAY_LOCK_LABEL</key>
    <string>slide_to_unlock</string>"

This is where I edit the "slide to unlock" part in what ever text I want? And save the file...but im stuck after that,?

I could use some help with this as well... I'm totally new to this. I've changed my icons and stuff and used iFuntastic but that's it. I can't figure out which is the correct folder to place it in. It keeps telling me the one on this site doesn't exist.

    okay i got it....
    1)d/l the SpringBoard.strings app
2)open it up with TEXT EDIT(mac program dunno if PC's have it)
    3)If you want to change th "slide to unlock" look towards the top and you will see this;
    '<key>AWAY_LOCK_LABEL</key>
    <string>slide_to_unlock</string>"
4)change just the "slide_to_unlock" to whatever you want....then save changes and close the app.
    5) Place this file in your PHONEDMG folder(where all your other stuff should be)
    6)enter terminal// jailbreak the phone
    7)run iphoneinterface
    8)type in "cd /System/Library/CoreServices/SpringBoard.app" enter
9)type in "putfile SpringBoard.strings hit enter
    10) "cd /System/Library/Lockdown"
    "putfile Services.plist"
    "exit"

Thats how I did it! good luck

itb - you replaced the entire SpringBoard application with a text file by doing that. Restore time. You have to replace like files, you can't just go replacing random files because they seem similar.

gravellydellic - what do you see in your CoreServices folder?

I see alot of files and things. Just no SpringBoard.app. I wonder where it is.

    nevermind. I got it now.

ok. Well now that im doing this I am having trouble. SpringBoard.app does not automatically go into CoreServices. I cannot put it in there because it says CoreServices cannot be modified. And when I try to run SpringBoard, it says my system does not support it and I cannot run it. What did I do wrong??? What do I do with SpringBoard.app?
