Default iTunes verifying 3GS phones upon startup?
I have a 3.0 jailbroken but not unlocked 3GS 32GB. Every single time I plug it into iTunes to sync, it say in the top bar that it's verifying my phone. Sync when plugged in is grayed out and has been since installing iTunes 9. It doesn't adversely affect my phone, I was just wondering if anyone else is experiencing this and what it could be that causes it. Thanks.

Yup its part of Apple's code-signing process to screw us out of jailbreaking.

So what exactly is it verifying and what does it mean for anyone that's jailbroken? ECIDs? Are they verifying that it's been restored with a signed firmware from them rather than a custom one?

Dunno for sure....but that would be a good guess.

Although Im still running 3.0.1 jailbroken and it doesnt matter, however it still goes through the verifying thing. But it will most likely more over affect 3.1+

I'm waiting for the anvil to fall on my head then! I used redsn0w I think, so I hope I'm okay. It's just a little unnerving for it to be doing something I didn't tell it to, and especially now that they have banned 3.0 restores.
