Default Apple Bringing Solar Ambitions to China
For Apple, it simply isn't sufficient to launch solar farms across the U.S. in hopes of expanding the company's commitment to renewable energy, now the iDevice maker has its sights set on China.

On Thursday, Reuters reported that Solar panel maker SunPower Corp has confirmed plans to team up with Apple for an ambitious joint solar power effort. Together, the companies are going to build two solar power projects in China with total capacity of 40 megawatts.

Reuters says the two projects, which will be co-owned by the companies, should be completed before the end of this year. Although speculation beyond these two projects is just speculation at this point, it's a safe bet that Apple's solar ambitions in China will not end with this particular deal.

"China set a higher-than-expected target for solar power installations for 2015 last month as it seeks to boost renewable energy use," the report notes, speaking to the broader aims of Chinese leaders and businesses across the nation.

Doesn't the smog problem in China make it difficult for these panel to capture sunlight?
