Default Apple Watch Out-of-Warranty Pricing Revealed

For all those purchasing the Apple Watch (or have already ordered one), it will probably be a good idea to purchase Apple’s AppleCare+ warranty program. The company has revealed pricing for out-of-warranty repair costs for the wearable device to be $229, $329, and $2,800 for the Sport, Watch, and Edition respectively. However, purchasing the AppleCare+ warranty will only cost you an additional $49, $59, and $1,500 for the Sport, Watch, and Edition with an extra two-year warranty for the Sport and the Watch and an additional three-years for the Edition. Those prices are definitely much cheaper than having to pay out-of-warranty costs. Any out-of-warranty battery service will be $79 + $6.95 shipping for all three models. Services will also vary based on location and local currencies.

Apple will also have an Express Replacement service for AppleCare+ customers. A package will be sent to owners to give their smartwatch in, then a replacement device will be sent out 2-3 business days after. The replacement device is said to be the same model as the one you purchased and will perform the same, if not better than the one you’re giving back. The service is free for the Apple Watch but if the original watch is not returned, it will cost owners $300-$500 for the Sport, $500-$600 for the stainless steel Watch, and $8,000-$10,000 for the Edition. A no return or late fee will also be charged at $35.50-$60.50 for the Sport, $85.50-$135.50 for the Watch and $2,600-$3,600 for the Edition if the company does not receive the device back in 10 business days. Geez, that's expensive. I agree with bry2k2, I might as well buy a new Watch if I hadn't bought AppleCare.
