Fresh on the heels of news that Aaron Sorkin's biopic about the late Steve Jobs will debut at SXSW in March, tonight we can confirm the eagerly awaited movie will reach theaters nationwide in October, shortly after the fourth anniversary of the tech visionary's passing.

Universal Pictures confirms the movie will see its theatrical debut on October 9th, 2015. Coming Soon reports that the release is early enough in the year to make the film eligible for awards season -- and there's already talk of the film being Oscar worthy.

Written by famed Hollywood scribe (and Oscar winner) Aaron Sorkin, the film itself is directed by fellow Oscar winner Danny Boyle and based on Walter Isaacsonís best-selling biography of Jobs.

As we all know by know, Michael Fassbender will star as Jobs with an all-star cast behind him -- including Kate Winslet, Seth Rogen, and Jeff Daniels. Even the producers on this biopic have stellar pedigree. Producers include Mark Gordon from Saving Private Ryan, Guymon Casady from Game of Thrones, and Oscar winner Christian Colson of both Slumdog Millionaire and Selma.
